Cons: very boxy; awkward grosgrain tie at the back of the neck; too long on petites; lined in 100% poly.
Sizing: TTS, but fit is a bit uninspiring.
Verdict: it's a boxy top in a material that demands attention, and potentially makes your boobs look really bad. I am unsure of whether to prioritize the use of good (upper) materials, or the poor design choices in cut. Big question mark.
Thank you so much for your review of this top. I was seriously considering it- but your honest review and assessment changed my mind. What were they thinking?!? You choose the items that I gravitate toward and your reviews are very valuable for me!
ReplyDeleteHi Calico&Tweed, thank you so much for your kind comment! Glad I was able to shed some light on the matter! It is disappointing, though, isn't it?
DeleteHi Maqsad,
ReplyDeleteIs it okay to share your weight and height? I am a Jcrew fan too and I am petite, 5'4''. It's great to see you posting so many beautiful pieces!
Hi aaa, thanks for your comment! Certainly, I am 5, 2.5" and I weigh 100lbs, give or take 2lbs depending on whether dessert is readily available at my house... It is a beautiful piece and I compared the dimensions with the wool silk twill top I reviewed previously. They are the same. With the texture of the lace, though, the top should have been more close fitting, and definitely more cropped to sit right on me. I'm debating having it shortened, if I want to keep it.
