OOTD: hot day, cool art

For a visit to a local art fair followed by a jaunt at our club swimming pool, I wore this outfit (outside the water!)

JCrew Collection silk pleated skirt (2012); crop lace top by Zara (2014); gladiators by Maria Sharapova for Cole Haan (2012); beach bag by JCrew.

I love this skirt - it is the most perfectly pleated, floaty thing on earth. I can only wear full length skirts with a crop top, though. And if I see the pleated one come back in navy or black I will definitely get it.

I loved the look of cropped wider leg pants with these incredibly sharp and chic flats. I couldn't get the right angle to show that off to full effect, so you'll have to use your imagination a bit. I felt very Diabe Keaton in this outfit.

WORK:

PLAY:

Tory Burch blazer; Everlane tee; JCrew belt and ecru toothpick jeans; Bettye Muller loafers; Coach perforated penny purse.

OOTD, Thursday.

Not the shoes I wore actually. I wore the 5050 boot in black napa leather by Stuart Weitzman, in fact. 

Details: bonded wool sweater in navy, one size, winter 2012; skirt from winter/spring2013, everlane T-shirt in navy, v-neck; navy tights. 

Colour blocking experimentation. Bad.

Big, stiff, swingy on top; fitted and skinny on bottom.
