JCrew Collection Italian Wool Jumpsuit, #b6087

Sizing: TTS. I took a 00 in regular sizing. I'm still curious as to how the shorter proportions might have looked on me and am stalking the P2 - it's been 2.5 months; should be any day now. ;)

Pros: the wool is thick woollen fabric with good drape; the type of fabric you'd expect nice suits to be made of. The tie at the waist is a plus. For me, I like the design and the fabric, especially the full sleeves and plain neckline because I intend to layer it with turtlenecks too. You could layer it with an oxford shirt (though the inevitable wrinkling of cotton underneath would be distracting). Pockets!

Cons:the inseam is long on me, being
5, 2.5".  I also don't like the feeling of vulnerability at the waistline because if the lack of loose drapeyness. I make it work by pulling the pants up and giving myself a big of coverage there. Otherwise, it feels kind of naked there, to wear it straight and simple like the catalogue model does.

Wearing with Coach shoes try-on.

Feeling exposed and a little Top Gun. No "coverage" at the waist.

Le derrière.

A little more "coverage" at the midsection.

  1. I really love the way you wear it in the last pic! And back pockets are great too. Love the material. If the 2P doesn't pop back, couldn't you have the pants hemmed?

    1. Hi Fleur de Lys! Yes, I think hemming would have to be done. Did you know that JCrew never makes collection items in petites, on policy? Thx for the feedback!

    1. Oh wow, Susan! What a ringer for the JCrew jumpsuit, and a better price point too! Poly, but for a trend piece in the winter, choices can be made... Thx for sharing! Do you have an IG Or blog photo wearing it? I'd love to see it on!

  3. It looks good how you styled it on the last photo. Are you planning to keep it? I wanted to try that jumpsuit in petite, but didn't want to spend full price for it, and by the time the promos came, petite sizes had sold out. JCrew should really make more petite sizes. I'm 5'0, and I get bummed when stuff is not offered in petite. Or it's the size that sells out first.

    1. Thx, JSR! I think I'd still go for regular sizing unless the petite is cut, miraculously, exactly right. I hear you about your size running out. Happens to me constantly. I gave up on Boden bc of that (plus the style was a bit tame and repetitive for me).

  4. I think I bought a fake J.Crew Jumpsuit since it doesn't look like the Italian Merino Wool. Could you please tell me how many buttons are there on your sleeves? I saw 3 buttons on each side on the J.crew official site. Thank you very much
