"Yesterday" I had 551 page visits! I got two comments out of the whole lot. Does this happen to y'all, who write your own blogs too?
Incidentally, the yesterday is in speech marks bc Blogger can't seem to adjust it's stats counters to my timezone. So I have to go per Pacific Time. "Today", by the same token, I've had 83 visits already.
Hey, there! I don't think I would worry about it too much. A popular blogger posts stats for advertisers on her blog, and she reports 900,000+ page views and 14,000+ subscribers, but her comments lately seem to average about 50 per post. That's not even 0.5% of subscribers, much less viewers, and she's had close to 5 years time to cultivate her readers. I think when you post stuff publicly online, most people view it as a resource rather than something they need to interact with. I visit lots of blogs, and most of the time I'm just passing through and haven't time to compose much of a coherent thought, and other times, even if it is a very interesting topic, and I've started composing a comment, I'll find my comment to be utterly banal or inane, so I just delete and move on. Those are some of the reasons I don't always leave a comment, and I'm sure there are many other reasons out there.
I have a very low number of comments in comparison to page views and sometimes no comments at all. And I've been at it 5 years, also. Clotted Creame made good comments. Sometimes I intend to leave a comment & get distracted by something else. Intend to return, etc... Keep going if you enjoy doing it.:)
